Paul Crowther has studied martial arts for nearly 30 years. Starting off in Judo as a child, he then went on to train in various other systems but, over the years, found they lacked a certain something he was looking for.
Later, he began to train Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and enjoyed the challenge of “really having to fight your way out of a bad situation.” But his key motivation was for self defence, not sport. Then, one day, he happened upon a Krav Maga school, and immediately found the spark that had eluded him this whole time.
“For me, it’s all about the reality of a situation. That’s what I needed from my training, and that’s what Krav Maga gave me.”
Paul has trained in Krav Maga for nearly a decade, traveling across Europe and Israel learning from some of the highest ranked instructors, and biggest names in the industry.
He was certified as an instructor by Grand Master Haim Zut in 2013, after completing the brutal instructors training course in Israel, and also holds instructor certification from the prestigious Wingate Institute, as well as the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association.
In 2016 he became the second person outside of Israel to earn the rank of Black Belt (Dan 1) in the Krav Maga Haim Zut system.
He teaches private 1-2-1 sessions and weekly classes as well as keeping up a demanding training schedule himself, training in Krav Maga, MMA and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu.
